Description
In the 2014-2020 programming period as set out in Article 7 (EU Regulation 1301/2013 on the European Regional Development Fund), sustainable urban development is being pursued with a more holistic and targeted approach of a long-term and strategic nature. This approach is expected to effectively solve the problems of urban areas and offers tools that the Member States are called upon to make use of.
In the governance and management of these projects the municipal authorities have a leading and decisive role, while the active involvement of other city stakeholders such as productive and social actors, representatives of civil society, etc., is being sought.
The aim of the project is to develop and share methods and good practices from planning, financing, evaluation and implementation of integrated Sustainable Urban Development Strategies (SUDS).
The cities participating in the scheme represent different planning, financing, implementation and management processes and policies for the use of Article 7 of the Regulation. By participating in the CIA7 network, cities are invited to exchange experiences on specific Implementation Challenges (ICs) related to the core subject of their integrated urban strategies / action plans and to the implementation of these strategies / action plans. Through this process, new ideas are expected to emerge to address challenges related to sustainable urban development.
